The second meeting of the AEESSG took place in Dallas, TX at the American Academy of Otolaryngology conference on September 27th, 2015. During the first few meetings of the AEESSG, the group worked on establishing consistent nomenclature in EES along with a standard EES classification system, which was published in Laryngoscope. The group also discussed the need for prospective studies in evaluating surgical and patient-centered outcomes in EES and how to standardize outcome reporting. The bylaws of the AEESSG were drafted in 2019.
